DKSH Group has signed an agreement to acquire Dubai-based NewBridge Pharmaceuticals at an enterprise value of $390 million, according to a statement issued by the group on 19 October 2026. The agreement covers the purchase of 100% ownership of the target upon completion. The acquisition aims to establish a healthcare platform in the Middle East and expand the group's business beyond Asia-Pacific. NewBridge gives the group an operational presence in 14 markets across the Middle East and North Africa, according to the statement. The expansion is linked to strengthening outsourced pharmaceutical commercialization services, including innovative medicines and rare disease treatments, while completion of the acquisition remains subject to its conditions being met.

NewBridge was established in Dubai in 2010, with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates among its main markets, according to DKSH. Its business includes services to provide access to medicines and commercialize them in the markets where it operates. It also provides medical affairs and sales force services, extending beyond product distribution to support commercialization. The company focuses on oncology, neurology, immunology and gastroenterology, alongside rare diseases. The group linked growth opportunities for these businesses to the expansion of the region's healthcare sector. It also pointed to demand for regional commercialization partners, an activity the NewBridge platform will add to the group's services through the planned acquisition.

DKSH said in the deal statement that the acquisition would be "debt-financed," specifying the funding source for the purchase of the regional platform. It confirmed that it would retain capacity for additional acquisitions after this deal. It also left its progressive dividend policy unchanged while financing the expansion through borrowing. As part of the business integration, NewBridge's management team will join the DKSH organization through the acquisition, according to the statement. The agreement thus covers the transfer of full ownership of the target and the integration of its management into the group, alongside the addition of its specialized services in regional markets.

DKSH expects NewBridge to generate revenue of about $385 million in 2027, according to Swissinfo, citing Keystone-SDA. That estimate is accompanied by an expected earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization margin in the high single digits. The NewBridge agreement followed another announcement by the group on 27 August 2026 that it had signed a deal to acquire PR Chemicals in Thailand. The Thai company distributes active pharmaceutical ingredients, according to DKSH's statement on that transaction. That agreement aimed to expand the group's pharmaceutical materials business, ahead of the announcement of the pharmaceutical services platform deal in the Middle East and North Africa.

Against the backdrop of the group's financial performance, net sales in the first half of 2026 totaled about 5,470.9 million Swiss francs, compared with 5,520.8 million in the corresponding period of 2025, according to the corrected results statement. That represented a decline of 0.9% in Swiss franc terms, while sales grew 4.9% at constant exchange rates. Core operating profit totaled 163.4 million francs, compared with 169.3 million in the corresponding period. That profit fell 3.5% in franc terms but rose 3.6% at constant exchange rates, mirroring the differing direction of sales under the two measures. Adjusted earnings per share rose 10.6% to 1.56 francs in the first half of 2026. Free cash flow for the same period totaled 147.7 million Swiss francs. The cash conversion rate was 130.8%, according to the corrected first-half results statement.

DKSH has scheduled its full-year 2026 results announcement for 16 February 2027, according to its financial calendar. The date also includes publication of the group's annual report for the same year. The NewBridge deal is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2027, according to Swissinfo, citing Keystone-SDA. Completion of the acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and the fulfillment of closing conditions. The group expects the deal to support net sales growth, its core operating profit margin and earnings per share "from closing," according to its statement, linking the expected financial impact to completion of the acquisition.
