Englobe, part of Colliers, announced the completion of its acquisition of Calgary-based Reinbold Engineering to strengthen its mechanical engineering and building performance expertise, according to a closing statement published via CNW. The deal comes as the parent company's engineering business expands, with revenue growing 30% year on year in the second quarter. The closing announcement follows an earlier announcement of the relationship between the companies, which Reinbold documented on its website on September 15, 2026. Reinbold said in that announcement: "Our partnership with Englobe marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Reinbold Engineering Group." The acquisition's stated immediate focus is building engineering, while giving Reinbold clients access to Englobe's broader environmental services.

Reinbold began operations in 1998, according to its official company history, and provides building systems design and analysis for construction and renovation projects. The company says these services cover more than 500 projects annually, spanning new buildings and existing properties undergoing renovation. It describes its designs as high-quality and cost-effective, alongside providing building systems analysis, according to its official services page. Its office network spans Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Kelowna, according to the locations listed on its website. The expertise Englobe aims to integrate into its national platform includes building systems, energy modelling and sustainable design, as it strengthens its capabilities in high-performance buildings.

Englobe's relationship with its parent company dates to Colliers' completion of the purchase of a controlling interest on July 30, 2024, according to Colliers' announcement of that deal's closing. The stake purchase agreement specified cash consideration of approximately US$475 million payable at closing, representing the consideration for the Englobe acquisition. Colliers continued expanding its engineering business, announcing the completion of its acquisition of Ayesa Engineering on May 27, 2026. The group said in the Ayesa closing statement that its engineering platform operated in 23 countries following the addition of the company. The platform's team numbered more than 11,000 professionals, according to the same statement, which outlined the scope of the group's engineering business following that acquisition.

At Englobe, the Reinbold deal followed another expansion in Alberta, with the company announcing its acquisition of Tetranex Solutions on January 29, 2026. Englobe described that deal as an entry into the energy sector, capitalising on rising electricity demand, according to a statement published by Colliers. In the parent company's annual results, engineering segment revenue reached US$1.73 billion in fiscal 2025. That compared with revenue of $1.24 billion in the previous year, according to Colliers' fourth-quarter and full-year results. The segment's reported annual growth was 40%, in the period preceding the engineering expansion deals announced during 2026.

In the latest quarterly figures included in Colliers' results, the engineering segment posted revenue of US$427.8 million in the second quarter. That represented an increase of 30% from the same period a year earlier, according to the earnings statement. Colliers attributed the segment's net revenue growth to recent acquisitions and strong internal growth across its operations. The group said the increase came from "a combination of recent acquisitions and strong internal growth", placing expansion through acquisitions alongside growth in existing operations. These quarterly results followed the announcement of the completion of the Ayesa purchase in May and preceded Reinbold's announcement of its partnership with Englobe in September.

Colliers plans to release its third-quarter results on November 4, 2026, according to its announcement of the next reporting date. The results are scheduled to be published in a press release at approximately 7 a.m. Eastern Time. The release will be followed by the group's earnings conference call on the same day, according to the events schedule on its website. Colliers set the earnings call for 11 a.m. Eastern Time. The financial outlook the group published with its second-quarter results excluded any additional acquisitions, according to the text accompanying that disclosure.
