Argan Sees Potential for Teledata Revenue to Double From 2026 With Falcor Integration
Key Facts
Argan's management said Teledata segment revenue could potentially double from fiscal 2026, supported by organic growth, the integration of Falcor and continued execution of the segment's strategy. Chief Executive David Watson said during the September earnings call that this trajectory could also support growth in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization in the coming quarters and beyond. He added: "We see the potential for revenue to double from fiscal 2026." Argan subsidiary Southern Maryland Cable completed its acquisition of Falcor on July 31, 2026, making the integration of its operations part of Teledata's growth plans. The initial announced consideration for the deal was approximately $8.3 million, funded through a combination of cash and Argan shares, according to the acquisition announcement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
In its filing for the quarter ended in July, Argan recorded total acquisition consideration for accounting purposes of approximately $9.4 million, including contingent consideration. The preliminary allocation of that consideration included acquired customer relationships valued at $4.7 million, according to the acquisition note in the quarterly filing. It also included goodwill of $2.6 million arising from the acquisition within the same preliminary allocation. Falcor contributed no revenue to that quarter's results because the deal closed on the final day of the fiscal period. Earnings from the acquired company were also excluded from Argan's quarterly results, according to the filing.
Falcor installs information, communications and data networks, according to the description of its business in the deal announcement. Its services also include maintaining and repairing those networks, adding operations to Teledata that extend to servicing networks after installation. The acquired company is based in Connecticut and serves the New England region of the United States. The deal adds customer relationships in the defense, aerospace and technology sectors to Teledata, according to Argan's statement. Southern Maryland Cable's chief executive said the relationship between the companies predated the acquisition, adding: "We have previously worked alongside Falcor as a project delivery partner."
Teledata's revenue totaled $6.6 million in the fiscal second quarter ended in July 2026, according to Argan's quarterly filing. That compared with revenue of $4.7 million in the corresponding quarter a year earlier, before any contribution from Falcor entered the results. At the group level, Argan reported record quarterly revenue of $384 million in the fiscal second quarter. Consolidated revenue rose 61.5% year on year, according to the company's earnings release. Argan attributed growth in its power segment to the continued acceleration of construction work on contracts that had yet to reach peak execution.
On the balance sheet, Argan's total cash, cash equivalents and investments stood at $1.03 billion at the end of July, according to the earnings release. Cash and cash equivalents alone totaled approximately $364.5 million at the same date, according to the quarterly filing. The company also reported net liquidity of $440.4 million at the end of the fiscal period. Argan had no debt at the end of July, according to its statement, coinciding with the closing of the acquisition funded with cash and shares. As Teledata's expansion proceeds, Watson identified the integration of the acquired company and continued execution of the segment's strategy among the challenges, citing "risks related to integration and continued execution of Teledata's strategy."
In a separate decision on shareholder returns, Argan announced in September an increase in its quarterly cash dividend per share, according to the dividend announcement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company set the new dividend at $0.70 per share for the quarterly period. The previous quarterly dividend was $0.50 per share before the increase approved by the company. The dividend is payable to shareholders of record at the close of business on October 22, 2026, under the announced terms. The company is scheduled to pay the cash dividend to eligible shareholders on October 30, 2026.
