NEAR Intents Transactions Reach $10.4 Billion in Third Quarter of 2026
Key Facts
NEAR Intents processed nearly $10.4 billion in transactions during the third quarter of 2026, according to Nansen's quarterly ecosystem report, as assets locked in the confidential execution service expanded. Value locked in the service stood at about $160 million at quarter-end. That represented an increase of nearly 463% from the previous quarter, according to the report. NEAR had announced that confidential value locked exceeded $30 million in late June 2026. The company said in its second-quarter ecosystem report that confidential execution accounted for 42% of swap volume through its NEAR.com interface.
On revenue, cumulative Intents fees exceeded $52 million, according to Nansen. NEAR retained more than $8 million of those fees, the same report said. The company had explained in its second-quarter report that its NEAR.com interface retains 100% of its own fees. The interface directs those fees toward NEAR token buybacks, according to the company's description of how revenue is used. DefiLlama's methodology states that tokens are purchased on the open market using retained Intents revenue. The methodology adds that purchased tokens are not burned, specifying how they are treated after buybacks.
In tokenized assets, access to Ondo products through NEAR Intents is subject to applicable eligibility and compliance requirements, according to NEAR's announcement. Ondo tokens provide economic exposure to the underlying securities, including their price movements. That exposure also includes the reinvestment of dividends after applicable withholding taxes, according to the company's description. For products linked to the NEAR token itself, the Bitwise NEAR fund, traded under the ticker NRR, has an expense ratio of about 0.75%, according to Investing.com data. A preliminary registration prospectus filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission stated a secondary investment objective of seeking to earn additional NEAR tokens through staking.
In a more recent development, NEAR announced NEAR Business on October 20, 2026, enabling financial operations across more than 35 chains from a single dashboard. Its functions include payments to employees and suppliers, according to the company's announcement. It also enables asset swaps and capital allocation across supported chains. The service charges a 0.35% fee on swaps, according to its announced launch terms. The fee is included in the quote shown to authorized approvers before they sign the transaction. The service also covers transaction execution fees, known as gas fees, for the first 1,000 actions each month.
NEAR's confidential execution relies on an execution environment within a private shard, according to the company's announcement making the service available to developers. Assets are screened upon entering this environment, as part of the procedures NEAR described for its operation. Each user's data is encrypted individually, according to the same announcement. The company said: "Confidential Intents is now available to all developers," expanding the distribution of confidential execution through integrated applications. Its plan announced at general availability included introducing a feature for selective disclosure of confidential data.
