Russia Seaborne Crude Exports Hit Lowest Since March 2026

Key Facts

Russia's four-week average seaborne crude exports fell to 3.59 million barrels per day in the period ending October 18, 2026. Oilprice.com reported that weekly shipments hit their lowest levels since March 2026, with the weekly export value dropping by approximately $380 million to $2.33 billion.

The decline was primarily driven by a multi-day stoppage of shipments at the Baltic port of Primorsk and a general decrease in the number of tankers loading crude. While China and India remain the largest customers, shipments to Asian buyers declined to a four-week average of 3.43 million barrels per day amid a broader trend of declining Russian crude production.

The Central Bank of Russia is scheduled to announce its interest rate decision on October 23, 2026. This upcoming meeting follows the slide in export revenues and continued shifts in Russian energy shipment volumes.
