Hasbro's results included about $55 million in tariff refunds during the third quarter, the company said, alongside revenue growth in its gaming business. Operating profit in the consumer products segment included a $48 million benefit from those refunds, according to the company's breakdown of segment performance. On capital allocation, Hasbro returned $206 million to shareholders during the quarter through dividends and share repurchases. The company also allocated $79 million to debt reduction during the period as part of the financial measures announced with its results. It said that amount included purchases of its bonds and pre-funding maturities using Treasury securities, alongside the amounts returned to shareholders.
In a separate announcement, Dime Community Bancshares reported net income available to common shareholders of $39.7 million in the third quarter of 2026, according to its earnings statement. Diluted earnings per common share were $0.90 during the period, according to figures in the company's quarterly announcement. That compares with diluted earnings of $0.75 per share in the second quarter of the same year, marking an increase from the previous quarter. Earnings per share also exceeded the $0.59 recorded in the third quarter of 2025, according to the year-on-year comparison in the statement. Dime announced an agreement to acquire ES Bancshares, the parent company of Empire Bank, for a combination of newly issued common shares and cash paid to the target company's shareholders. The acquisition consideration includes the issuance of 720,000 common shares, according to the terms Dime set out in its deal announcement. It also includes $30.0 million in cash payable to Empire shareholders upon completion of the acquisition, alongside the shares to be issued. Dime said the transaction aims to strengthen its banking presence in Staten Island and expand its presence in Brooklyn. Empire had total deposits of $491 million at the end of September 2026, according to figures Dime provided for the target company in the acquisition announcement.
Empire's purchase price represents about 1.09 times its tangible book value per share, according to the transaction valuation Dime announced when disclosing the agreement. The company expects the acquisition to dilute tangible book value by about 2%, according to its estimates of the transaction's financial impact. Dime put the expected earnback period for that dilution at "less than 3 years," according to the deal statement. On earnings, management expects the acquisition to add about 3.5% to earnings per share following completion, according to the announced estimates. Completion of the agreement remains subject to regulatory approvals and approval by Empire shareholders, as well as the closing conditions set out by the companies.
Looking ahead, Hasbro raised its forecast for full-year revenue growth in constant currency to a range of 7% to 9% for 2026, according to its earnings statement. The company had previously expected growth of 5% to 7% for the same year before revising the range with its third-quarter results. Hasbro described its new range in the statement as "7–9% in constant currency" as part of its updated full-year outlook. On the banking acquisition, Dime and Empire aim to complete the transaction in the first quarter of 2027, according to their announced timetable. The completion date depends on securing the approvals and satisfying the closing conditions set out in the agreement between the companies.
