Construction Partners announced it has completed the acquisition of Florida-based S.E. Cline Construction, in a deal covering operations with about 60 employees and adding commercial site development and underground utility construction services. The group said in its acquisition announcement that the acquired company, known as Cline Construction, is based in Palm Coast. Cline serves public- and private-sector projects in northeastern and central Florida, where the group has paving operations. The acquired operations are set to be integrated into C.W. Roberts Contracting, Construction Partners' operating platform in the state. Cline's site preparation and utility activities complement the group's existing paving business in the Daytona Beach area, according to the company's description of the deal.

The addition to the Florida operations comes as the group's business expands, with reported revenue of $999.4 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2026. According to its quarterly earnings statement, revenue rose 28.2% from $779.3 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. The backlog of contracted projects reached a record $3.36 billion at the end of the fiscal third quarter. Publicly funded projects account for the majority of Construction Partners' business, according to the group's business disclosures. Those activities include road, airport and bridge construction, alongside the group's site preparation and paving work for private-sector projects.

The group previously strengthened its presence in the same region through the acquisition of Daytona Beach-based P&S Paving. Construction Partners announced that deal on October 20, 2025, according to its disclosure on the earlier acquisition. The acquired company operated 2 hot-mix asphalt plants and provided paving services in northeastern and central Florida. Its activities also included site work and utilities, services within the scope of the operations the Cline deal adds to the group. The group's operations in the region thus combine asphalt manufacturing, paving, site preparation and utility construction through the activities described in its acquisition announcements.

In another expansion within Florida, Construction Partners announced the acquisition of Roads, Inc. of NWF on September 21, 2026. The group said the acquired company operates in asphalt manufacturing and construction and is based in Cantonment, Florida. That deal added a hot-mix asphalt plant north of Pensacola, along with its associated crews and equipment. More than 150 employees joined C.W. Roberts as part of the transaction, according to the group's acquisition statement. The same Florida operating platform thus absorbed the employees and operations associated with the Roads deal and is also set to integrate Cline's business.

The acquisition series extended to Texas, where the group announced on October 5, 2026, the purchase of the asphalt manufacturing and construction assets of J.H. Strain & Sons. According to the statement on that deal, the acquired assets included 2 hot-mix asphalt plants serving the Abilene area. The group decided to integrate the plants into Lone Star Paving, its platform that took on the operations added through the deal. More than 125 employees joined Lone Star with the transfer of the manufacturing and construction assets, according to Construction Partners' statement. The announced Texas deal thus combined asphalt production plants and personnel, while the Cline transaction in Florida adds expertise in site development and underground utilities.

Construction Partners' private-sector activities serve a range of real estate, commercial and industrial projects, alongside its publicly funded infrastructure business. The group says in its disclosures that its private-sector services include site preparation and paving for office and industrial parks. These services also extend to shopping centers and residential developments, within the scope of business outlined by the company. In Florida, Cline also works with public- and private-sector clients in the northeastern and central parts of the state. Its commercial site development and underground utility construction operations add to this operating mix as it moves into the group's C.W. Roberts platform.

For future expansion, the Cline deal includes a site in nearby Bunnell permitted for a hot-mix asphalt plant, according to the group's announcement. The site has rail service, a feature the company cited in its description of the assets acquired. The chief executive said the Bunnell site offers an opportunity to strengthen "future vertical integration" on Florida's east coast. The chief executive also linked this opportunity to organic growth in the group's regional business, alongside its expansion through acquisitions. The next announced operational step involves integrating Cline's business into C.W. Roberts, while development of the Bunnell site remains a future growth opportunity as described by the group's management.
