LayerZero Sets November 30 Launch for Zero Network and Atlas Trading Infrastructure
Key Facts
LayerZero has set November 30 for the launch of the Zero mainnet and Atlas trading infrastructure, according to Crypto News coverage of the company's October 20 announcement. Atlas will be the first application to launch on the network, bringing trading services together within a unified technical infrastructure. The company says its planned initial capacity at launch is 200,000 transactions per second. LayerZero introduced Atlas on an official page dated August 25, 2026, detailing the infrastructure's specifications and economic model. That model links trading revenue to use of the ZRO token through rebates for trading platforms and a mechanism to buy and burn the token using fees remaining after their share.
Atlas combines order matching, clearing, settlement and risk management in a unified technology stack for trading applications, according to LayerZero's description. It will have no trading interface or consumer application of its own, according to the product introduction blog post. The Atlas page lists median latency for perpetual futures trading at 965 microseconds among the specifications published ahead of launch. The Zero network uses zero-knowledge proofs to separate transaction execution from verification, according to the company's technical presentation. LayerZero describes the design as a shift from replicating execution across the network to a heterogeneous architecture that separates execution and verification.
Under Atlas's open model, trading platforms receive rebates ranging from 20% to 65% of trading fees, according to terms announced by LayerZero. A platform's qualifying tier is determined by the amount of ZRO staked, aggregate trading volume, or both. Staking requirements for the highest incentive tier reach the equivalent of 1% of the token's supply, according to the Atlas introduction blog post. After deducting the trading platform's share, the design allocates 75% of remaining trading fees to buying and burning ZRO. The amounts directed toward buying and burning are therefore tied to trading fees after platforms' share, while rebates for those platforms are linked to staking and activity levels under the announced mechanism.
LayerZero puts ZRO's total supply at 1 billion tokens and says the Zero ecosystem will use the same token. Its tokenomics blog post stated: "There is no second token and there never will be." In network governance, the design allows holders of voting power to delegate it to an expert representative of their choosing, according to Zero's technical presentation. Those delegating retain the ability to vote directly and override their delegation when participating in decisions. The company also says it has removed automatic staking penalties at the consensus layer under the governance model it presented for the network.
In LayerZero's stablecoin business, Anchorage Digital selected the company as the interoperability partner for its issuances, according to a LayerZero announcement. Stablecoins issued under the partnership will use the company's omnichain fungible token standard. Tether, for its part, said USDt0, which is built on LayerZero's standard, had facilitated more than $70 billion in cross-chain value transfers since launch. It added that those transfers took place in less than 12 months after launch. Tether Chief Executive Paolo Ardoino said in the company's statement on its strategic investment in LayerZero Labs: "Tether invests in infrastructure that is already delivering real-world utility."
In trading, Investing.com's historical table listed ZRO at 2.016 in the October 20, 2026 session. The token's listed daily gain was 5.16% in that session. As for the size of the markets targeted by the new infrastructure, average daily global foreign exchange turnover reached $9.5 trillion in April 2025, according to the Bank for International Settlements. That represented an increase of 27% from April 2022, according to the bank. LayerZero's next step is to launch the Zero mainnet and Atlas together on November 30, according to the date Crypto News reported from the company's announcement.
