Thailand's regulatory rules for Bitcoin and Ether ETFs have officially taken effect, establishing the operational standards for these investment vehicles. TokenPost reported that the new framework requires funds to maintain an average net exposure of at least 80% of their net asset value over each accounting year. Bitcoin and Ether are the only two eligible assets for such funds during the initial implementation phase.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand introduced these measures to establish a formal framework for institutional and retail exposure to digital assets through regulated vehicles. Under the rules, fund assets must be held by a regulated digital asset custodian, and securities firms are prohibited from providing margin loans for the purchase of crypto ETFs.
