Mondi Q3 Underlying EBITDA Rises 17% as Higher Prices Offset Costs

Key Facts

1Mondi reported Q3 underlying EBITDA of €196 million, a 17% increase from €167 million in the previous quarter.
2Higher selling prices helped the group offset rising input costs during the period.

Mondi PLC reported Q3 2026 underlying EBITDA of €196 million, representing a 17% increase from the €167 million recorded in the previous quarter. Proactive Investors reported that higher selling prices across the group's business units helped offset rising input costs during the period.

The sequential earnings growth was further supported by the absence of a forestry fair value loss, which had impacted the second-quarter results by €43 million. Flexible Packaging recorded positive pricing momentum in Kraft paper, while Corrugated Packaging benefited from higher containerboard prices despite ongoing margin pressure from delayed price pass-throughs to customers.

Management expects higher packaging paper prices to support performance in the fourth quarter of 2026 despite volatile energy costs. Chief executive Andrew King noted that the company has announced further price increases for several paper grades, with the financial benefits expected to materialize toward the end of 2026 and into 2027.
