Unichain to Migrate Production Infrastructure to Optimism Management in October
Key Facts
Unichain plans to move its production infrastructure under the management of Optimism’s OP Enterprise service in October. TokenPost reported that the migration aims to place core operations under managed services while Unichain preserves its own governance, contracts, and applications, including Uniswap v2, v3, and v4 deployments. Under this arrangement, Optimism will operate the sequencers, node infrastructure, monitoring, and incident response systems.
The migration schedule includes a testnet transition on October 13, 2026, followed by the planned mainnet move on October 30, 2026. According to the reports, Unichain will remain a Stage 1 rollup, ensuring fallback routes through the Ethereum network remain available if a sequencer fails. This move concentrates chain operations within the Optimism ecosystem, following a managed-operations model already adopted by Soneium and planned for the Ink network.
