Freeport LNG Gas Intake Recovers to 1.9 Bcfd Following Maintenance

Key Facts

1Gas flows to the Freeport LNG plant in Texas were on track to reach 1.9 billion cubic feet per day on Monday.
2The increase follows the shutdown of one of the plant's three liquefaction trains for maintenance on Friday.

Gas flows to the Freeport LNG plant in Texas were on track to reach 1.9 billion cubic feet per day on Monday, October 5, 2026. Reuters reported that the increase follows the restoration of operations after one of the facility's three liquefaction trains was shut down for maintenance last Friday.

The temporary shutdown of Train 2 for compressor system maintenance had reduced demand for U.S. natural gas over the weekend before intake levels recovered. The facility can consume approximately 2.4 billion cubic feet per day when operating at full capacity, and the return to normal intake levels supports domestic gas demand.
