CSL and Alentis Therapeutics have entered into an exclusive global collaboration agreement to co-develop and co-promote lixudebart, a therapy targeting rare kidney and liver diseases. PR Newswire reported that Alentis will receive an initial payment of $355 million and remains eligible for up to $1.2 billion in additional commercial milestone payments.

The partnership focuses on commercializing the therapy, which is currently in Phase 2 trials for ANCA-associated vasculitis, a life-threatening autoimmune condition. The collaboration seeks to address rapid declines in organ function through claudin-1 targeting.
