Net-long exposure to the US dollar rose by $12.5 billion to reach a total of $17.3 billion, according to the Commitment of Traders (COT) report. Forex.com reported that the greenback recorded its fastest weekly increase in long exposure in seven years.

Futures traders increased bearish exposure to the euro and British pound as the dollar rally gathered momentum. This shift in institutional positioning follows recent economic data, including the Chicago Fed National Activity Index which reached -0.04 on September 21, 2026, and Germany's Manufacturing PMI which stood at 53.8 on September 23, 2026.
