The expansion aims to replenish Group 5 drone fleets and fill critical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) mission gaps.

ULTRA drones are positioned as a lower-cost alternative to MQ-9 Reapers for long-endurance surveillance missions as the US military seeks to upgrade its unmanned fleet. Shares of ONDS closed at $7.64 on September 25, 2026, after reaching a day high of $7.88 and a low of $7.59. Work under the expanded contract is expected to be completed by March 26, 2031.
