Blackstone’s BCRED Caps Q3 Repurchases at 5% After $4.3 Billion in Requests
Key Facts
Blackstone Private Credit Fund, known as BCRED, said third-quarter share-repurchase requests were estimated at $4.3 billion, equal to about 10% of shares outstanding. The fund will repurchase shares equal to 5% of shares outstanding, allocating purchases on a pro rata basis because requests exceeded the approved amount.
BCRED is a non-exchange-traded business development company whose shares do not trade on an established market. Its program provides limited quarterly liquidity through repurchase offers targeting up to 5% of shares outstanding, subject to board discretion; the third-quarter action therefore applies the program’s ceiling rather than suspending repurchases.
In the second quarter, BCRED received $4.5 billion of requests and fulfilled approximately half, leaving $2.3 billion unfulfilled. The fund said a significant portion of that balance was resubmitted in the third quarter, meaning the estimated $4.3 billion did not consist entirely of new requests.
BCRED estimates that investors who requested repurchase of 100% of their shares in both the second and third quarters of 2026 will receive about 75% of their requested capital within approximately 90 days. That is a conditional estimate, not a guaranteed timetable for every investor.
Through September 2, 2026, estimated third-quarter inflows equaled about 2% of net asset value, producing net outflows of approximately 3% of net asset value. The fund said the inflow figures were not yet final.
BCRED had more than $17 billion of available liquidity on June 30, 2026, and a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.8 times on July 31, 2026. The fund expects $2.7 billion of second-quarter loan repayments and nearly $750 million of third-quarter inflows to equal about 160% of the value of quarterly repurchases, while cautioning that those sources do not offset repurchases dollar for dollar.
BCRED will disclose the final dollar value of repurchases in November after determining its September 30, 2026 net asset value. The $4.3 billion request estimate is based on July 31, 2026 net asset value per share, so the final value may differ.
