Solar Overtakes Coal as China's Largest Power Source in Historic Shift

According to the National Energy Administration, solar has become the single largest electricity capacity source in the country. Official data shows that China's solar capacity reached 1,286 GW at the end of July 2026, accounting for 31.5% of the nation's total installed power generation.
