Sign InSupply decisions are becoming increasingly important for oil markets as the alliance approaches a new phase in managing output. According to reports, OPEC and its allies increased oil production for a sixth consecutive time, The Wall Street Journal reported. The move is part of the group’s ongoing cycle of supply additions. The alliance is also nearing the end of that cycle, with potentially difficult negotiations over future production quotas ahead.
The latest increase could add supply-side pressure to the oil market, while the approaching end of the increase cycle may limit its effect. According to economic-calendar data, the EIA weekly petroleum report on July 29 showed a 7.167 decline in crude oil inventories. The path of future production quotas will remain a central factor in assessing the alliance’s supply balance.
