In a move that highlights the growing role of Asian biotech firms, Hong Kong-listed Metis TechBio has signed a licensing deal with U.S.-based Boulevard Bio. Under the agreement, Metis grants exclusive global rights to develop, manufacture and commercialize its experimental autoimmune drug MTS-128, in a deal worth up to $1.6 billion, according to Reuters.
The deal comes at a time of heightened interest in the autoimmune disease space. Boulevard Bio gains a promising candidate for its pipeline, while Metis secures up to $1.6 billion in milestone payments.
