Algoma Steel Inc. and Roshel have announced the formation of a new joint venture, Roshel Algoma Defence Solutions Inc. (RADS). The partnership is designed to provide sovereign ballistic steel solutions specifically tailored for the Canadian defence sector. By combining Roshel’s expertise in armored vehicle manufacturing with Algoma’s steel production capabilities, the venture aims to secure a reliable domestic supply chain for critical materials. This initiative is expected to significantly strengthen Canada's domestic defence industrial base and reduce dependence on foreign steel for ballistic protection.
