Amsterdam-based Nebius Group has announced plans to construct a massive 310-megawatt data center in Lappeenranta, Finland, to support intensive AI workloads. The project, valued at over $10 billion, is being developed in collaboration with its Finnish partner, Polarnode. Following the announcement, Nebius shares gained 4.5% as investors reacted positively to the strategic expansion. This new "AI factory" follows the successful expansion of the company's existing facility in Mäntsälä and is expected to come online in phases starting in 2027. With backing from industry leaders like NVIDIA, the facility aims to meet the surging global demand for specialized AI cloud computing services. Analysts view this development as a significant commitment that reinforces Nebius's position within the high-performance computing sector.
