AES Indiana Launches 250 MW Petersburg Solar and Storage Center

AES Indiana has officially brought its Petersburg Energy Center online in Pike County, marking a significant milestone in its renewable energy transition. The facility features 250 MW of solar generation capacity paired with 180 MWh of energy storage, capable of powering approximately 100,000 homes. This project is a key component of the company's broader strategic plan to integrate 1,400 MW of renewable energy by 2027. Notably, the center qualifies as an 'Energy Community,' allowing it to secure federal tax credits of 40%, up from the standard 26%. The completion of this infrastructure project is expected to bolster the long-term earnings potential and ESG profile of the parent company, AES Corporation.
