GDP Mainland MoM measures the monthly change in the inflation-adjusted value of all goods and services produced by Norway's mainland economy. This specific indicator excludes the volatile contributions from the offshore petroleum and ocean transport sectors, providing a clearer view of the underlying economic health of the country. It is a vital metric for the Norges Bank when determining interest rate policy. Consistent growth in mainland GDP suggests a robust domestic economy and healthy consumer demand.
Calculated using the production approach, summing the value added from all mainland industries. The data is seasonally and calendar adjusted to ensure comparability between months.
