The Anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People is a major national holiday in Morocco observed every August 20. It commemorates the historic 1953 uprising where Moroccans protested against French colonial forces following the forced exile of Sultan Mohammed V. This event marks a defining moment in the nation's path toward independence and highlights the symbolic unity between the Moroccan monarchy and its citizens. As a public holiday, it results in the closure of government offices, financial institutions, and the national stock exchange.
This is a fixed annual national holiday observed on August 20. It is not a statistical indicator and does not involve data collection or calculation methodologies.
