The Stanbic Bank Kenya Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) provides an early snapshot of operating conditions in the Kenyan private sector. It is based on survey responses from purchasing executives in around 400 private sector companies. A reading above 50.0 indicates an overall expansion compared to the previous month.
Derived from monthly surveys of purchasing managers across agriculture, mining, manufacturing, services, and construction. The headline index is a weighted average of five sub-indices: New Orders, Output, Employment, Suppliers' Delivery Times, and Stocks of Purchases.
