The Markit/ADACI Italy Services Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) provides a snapshot of the health of the Italian services sector. It is based on survey responses from purchasing managers in approximately 400 companies, covering areas such as business activity, new orders, and employment. A reading above 50 indicates expansion in the sector, while a reading below 50 indicates contraction.
The index is a diffusion index calculated from a monthly survey. Managers are asked whether business conditions have improved, deteriorated, or stayed the same compared to the previous month, with the final figure seasonally adjusted.
