Coptic Good Friday is a solemn religious holiday in Eritrea observed by the Coptic Orthodox community. It commemorates the passion and crucifixion of Jesus Christ and is part of the Holy Week leading up to Coptic Easter. Economic activity is significantly reduced as banks, schools, and government offices are closed for the observance.
Follows the Coptic calendar's calculation of Pascha, occurring on the Friday immediately preceding Coptic Easter Sunday.
