Construction Output Year-over-Year (YoY) measures the change in the total value of construction work completed, including residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. It serves as a vital indicator of investment levels and long-term economic confidence. Because construction projects require significant capital and labor, this indicator is a major contributor to employment and overall economic growth.
The figure is calculated by comparing the total volume of construction work in the current month to the same month of the previous year, adjusted for inflation and seasonal factors.
