Wall Street Close: Bitcoin and Ethereum Recover Gains Despite Fund Outflows

Major cryptocurrencies ended the U.S. session window higher, but fund outflows and NEAR's decline despite an issuance cut limit the case for viewing the gains as a broad recovery. At the close of Wall Street, Bitcoin stood at 77941.36, up +1.39%; Ethereum at 2297.14, up +1.93%; and Solana at 93.83, up +2.21%. This result marks a positive shift from Ethereum's weakness and Bitcoin's pressure in the previous brief, with Solana outperforming among the major cryptocurrencies mentioned. But news of one billion dollars in outflows from crypto funds and selling pressure from BlackRock keep institutional flows a source of pressure. Prices therefore reflect an improved session outcome, but on their own they are not enough to prove that institutional selling has ended or that money is returning to funds. Buying among altcoins was selective: THORChain rose +18.13% and Holo +17.52%, while NEAR's price fell 7% despite approval of a cut in annual issuance to 1.6% through a process spanning 24 months. The issuance cut gradually limits new supply, but it does not prove increased demand for the token, and the extended implementation differs from an immediate effect on supply. The day's results show that approving a change to token economics was not enough to support NEAR's price, even as other altcoins posted strong gains.
