Ancestors' Day, known locally as Pchum Ben, is one of the most significant religious festivals in Cambodia. It is a 15-day period of commemoration, with the final three days designated as public holidays, leading to the closure of the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX). During this time, Cambodians pay respects to deceased relatives through offerings at pagodas. Economically, it marks a period of high domestic consumption but a total halt in formal financial market activities.
