A high number of quits suggests that workers are confident in their ability to find better-paying or more suitable positions elsewhere. The data is collected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics through a monthly survey of approximately 21,000 nonfarm business establishments, covering all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
