JOLTs Job Quits measures the number of workers who voluntarily left their jobs during the reference month, excluding retirements or transfers. A high number of quits suggests that workers are confident in their ability to find better-paying or more suitable positions elsewhere. It is often viewed as a leading indicator of wage growth and labor market tightness.
The data is collected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics through a monthly survey of approximately 21,000 nonfarm business establishments, covering all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
