The Ai Group Australian Performance of Services Index (PSI) is a leading indicator of the economic health of the Australian services sector. It provides a monthly measure of business conditions, including sales, employment, and new orders across various service industries. Since the services sector represents the largest part of the Australian economy, this index is a critical gauge of overall domestic demand.
The index is based on a survey of several hundred service sector companies. A diffusion index is used where a reading above 50 indicates growth compared to the previous month, and a reading below 50 indicates a decline.
