Blue Moon Metals Inc. has announced the acquisition of a 100% interest in the Apex mine in Utah from Teck Resources Limited. The Apex mine is historically significant as a producer of germanium, gallium, and copper, all of which are classified as critical minerals for U.S. national security. As part of the agreement, Teck Resources will become a major stakeholder in Blue Moon, signaling strong institutional support for the project. This strategic move is designed to strengthen the North American mineral supply chain and reduce dependency on foreign sources for high-tech materials. The transaction is also linked to broader efforts to secure the $12 billion U.S. critical metals stockpile in collaboration with Hartree Partners LP. The acquisition positions Blue Moon Metals as a key player in the domestic production of minerals essential for the defense and technology sectors.
